How do I enter my playoff matchups?

I have registered our league (either by renewing a league from last year or by creating a new league). How do my team owners now get access to their teams?

Once you have completed the TEAMS & OWNERS portion of your LEAGUE SETUP, TQ Stats will send an email to each of your team owners with their Unique Keys. Each team owner and co-owner will have their own Unique Key.
Once a team owner has received his Unique Key, he should go to www.tqstats.com and click on the SIGN UP NOW link for the appropriate sport. He then should complete the 4 signup pages in order to access his team:
Page 1: Enter his User ID number and password (if he has played with TQ Stats/CDM before), click JOIN AN EXISTING LEAGUE, then click NEXT at the bottom of the page.
Page 2: Enter his Unique Key by entering 3 letters in the first box (this field is not case-sensitive) and 4 numbers in the second box. Choose from the available options, then click NEXT at the bottom of the page.
Page 3: Enter or verify his contact information, then click NEXT at the bottom of the page.
Page 4: Edit his team name, if needed, then click SUBMIT at the bottom of the page.

The last page will display the team owner’s User ID number and a link to login to your league.

What is a Unique Key and how do I find one?
A Unique Key is a passcode that will ensure that each team owner in your league is assigned to the proper team. The Unique Keys for each team owner in your league are listed in the COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE in LEAGUE SETUP on the TEAMS & OWNERS page.

How do I know which teams in our league have signed up with their Unique Key?
In LEAGUE SETUP, go to TEAMS & OWNERS. Under the column labeled Unique Key, those Unique Keys that have already been used will have a strikethrough, and will correspond to the teams that have signed up.

Can I change my User ID and/or password?
Your User ID is assigned by TQ Stats and cannot be changed. You may change your password. Go to www.tqstats.com and login. Click MEMBER SERVICES located at the top of the page. Click PASSWORD. Type in your new password and click SAVE INFO.

How do I add a co-owner to a team?
Go to LEAGUE SETUP. Click on TEAMS & OWNERS. Click NEXT at the bottom of the page, then click NEXT at the bottom of Page 2. On Page 3, there is a column labeled Owners Allowed. Click the blue number 1 next to the team for which you want to add an additional owner. Click ADD NEW OWNER at the top of the page. Fill in the Owner Name and Owner Email. Click CONTINUE. On the following page, click SAVE TEAM ASSIGNMENTS. TQ Stats will send an email to the co-owner with the Unique Key for his team.

How do I change the owner of a team to a different person?
If the original owner of the team has already signed up and used the Unique Key, you will need to call TQ Stats (1-800-267-3322) and ask to revoke access for the incorrect team owner. TQ Stats will revoke access so that the new owner of the team can signup with the Unique Key.
If the original owner of the team has not signed up with the Unique Key, in LEAGUE SETUP, go to TEAMS & OWNERS and change the name and email address to that of the new owner for the team.

How do I delete a team and the corresponding roster from our league?
In LEAGUE SETUP, go to TEAMS & OWNERS. Click DELETE next to the team that is to be removed from your league. WARNING: This will delete the team and roster from your league. If you simply want to change owners, do NOT use this DELETE function. If you delete the wrong team, you will have to enter the roster again.

How do I clear last year’s rosters?
Go to COMMISSIONER HOME. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to PRESEASON ROSTERS. Scroll down the page to CLEAR LAST YEAR’S ROSTERS. Clicking on this option will remove players from all rosters.

How do I enter preseason rosters?
Go to COMMISSIONER HOME. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to PRESEASON ROSTERS. There are two options for entering preseason rosters.
The POINT AND CLICK JAVA APPLET option is the easiest way to enter rosters. Enter rosters one team at a time. Players are entered by first clicking on an open roster slot, then clicking on the team of the player being added, then clicking the ADD button on the control panel at the left. If you use contracts and salaries, you will be queried for that information. This option also can be used at your draft to enter players one by one. TQ Stats saves your rosters every few seconds to guard against data loss. Once you have finished entering rosters for ALL of the teams in your league, click SUBMIT on the control panel at the left.
The TYPE AND CHECK PERL SCRIPT option allows you to type in player names on each roster. Click SEND to save your rosters.
Once you have submitted your rosters, team owners can make roster moves through their web pages (provided that you have given them access to do this in LEAGUE SETUP).

Why won’t the Point and Click Java Applet load?
You may need to download a more recent copy of Java by going to http://java.sun.com/getjava.

What is a Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB)?
A Free Agent Acquisition Budget (or FAAB) is used to acquire free agents. Most leagues start with $100 available for each team. The team owner who bids the most is awarded the free agent and his FAAB then is decreased by the amount of his bid.

Our league charges fees for player transactions and roster moves. How do I set this up?
You may set up your league accounting and track spending by using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS and changing the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to SET TRANSACTION FEES. You may set fees, adjust balances and add money to accounts.

How do I rollover contracts and adjust player salaries?
Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to PRESEASON ROSTERS. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. The ROLLOVER CONTRACTS OR ADJUST SALARIES option allows leagues that are returning from last year to rollover player contracts, expire contracts, and/or adjust salaries.

Can teams trade players with each other?
Yes, you may allow teams to trade players. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to SETUP TEAM-TO-TEAM TRADING. Trades only may be made after your preseason rosters have been submitted.

Can I make back-dated roster moves?
Yes. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to JAVA POINT AND CLICK. First change the effective date for the roster moves to the correct date. Then submit the transactions to be back-dated. Make sure to adjust future transactions involving these players too, if needed. To generate new stats after you have back-dated roster moves, go to COMMISSIONER HOME. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled REPORTS to REGENERATE STATS.
If you do not have java on your computer, you also may use the POINT AND CLICK WEB FORM option under MANAGEMENT TOOLS to back-date roster moves.

How do I regenerate stats after making back-dated roster moves?
To generate new stats after you have back-dated transactions, go to COMMISSIONER HOME. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled REPORTS to REGENERATE STATS.

If roster moves have been entered for the wrong date, how do I fix it?
Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to JAVA POINT AND CLICK. Go to the date for which the moves were originally entered and click SHOW TRANSACTIONS. Click on the roster moves you want to undo and click UNDO SELECTION. Change the effective date to the correct period and resubmit the moves.
If you do not have java on your computer, you also may use the POINT AND CLICK WEB FORM option under MANAGEMENT TOOLS to correct the date.

What do the asterisk (*) and pound sign (#) next to my players mean?
An asterisk (*) indicates that the player is on the disabled list. A pound sign (#) indicates that the player has been sent to the minor league.

Why doesn’t a stat change appear in our statistics?
For head-to-head leagues, statistics, win/loss records, and standings are not automatically recalculated when there are stat changes. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled REPORTS to REGENERATE STATS to pick up stat changes and thus adjust win/loss records and your league’s standings.
Please note that for non-head-to-head leagues, stats and standings are automatically updated and recalculated when there are stat changes.

I am receiving an alert box on the java page. What does it mean?
An alert box could indicate that there is a problem with roster moves or back-dated roster moves. Go to the date that is listed in the alert box and check the transactions.

Why are the live stats incorrect?
The live stats are unofficial and subject to errors. The standings and team stats pages provide the official stats.

A player has been called up but does not appear on my free agent list. Why?
Players that are called up by a major league team are automatically added to your free agent list AFTER we receive the statistical update from the next game played by the player’s new team. Thus a player who has been called up typically will not appear on your free agent list until the next day. If, however, the team has one or more days off, it will be the day after the next game played by the player’s new team.
As the commissioner of your league, however, you may manually add the player to your league’s free agent list before he is automatically added. Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to MAKE INSEASON TRANSACTIONS, and select the option to add a free agent.

A player was released from a team in our league this week. Why doesn’t he appear as a free agent using the Point and Click Java Applet?
You cannot release and add a player in the same stat week using the POINT AND CLICK JAVA APPLET option. You must use the POINT AND CLICK WEB FORM option to complete this transaction.

How do I enter my playoff matchups?
Using your COMMISSIONER’S TOOLS, change the drop-down box labeled MANAGEMENT TOOLS to SET PLAYOFF MATCHUPS.
